Croatian Tales of Long Ago - Sanctuary

Life is always gruelling for an ordinary mortal. And when the gods sow only fury, the earth gives birth to stone. It is not good for anything except building monuments.
In the midst of the rocky Lika, people fervently prayed to Volos for the fertility of their land and the abundance of cattle. But Perun, eternally furious and jealous of Volos, tore down that sanctuary.
And to the people alone he left appeasing the dragon that slept in the deity of the land. Offended, Perun retreated behind the clouds to quiet their desperate attempts to survive the clash with the beast.
